Creating a report

Written by Ellen

You can generate two kinds of reports in MVO: a PDF Report or an Excel Report.

Both follow the same process. Your final report will reflect any filters you apply, letting you customise exactly what gets included.

PDF Reports

Beautifully formatted and ready to present. Ideal for sharing with clients or internal teams.

Excel Reports

Detailed, editable and perfect for deeper analysis or internal logs.

Creating a General Report

1. Start from your brandspace dashboard

To create a report, you need to be in a brandspace dashboard.

2. Apply Filters (Optional)

Use filters to customise what appears in your report. You can mix and match as many as you like. Available filters include:

  • Date Range

Select the date range for your data.

  • Tags
Report on a single tag, such as a campaign or product.

  • Tag Groups
Group related tags together for strategy-level reporting.

  • Contributor
Focus on one creator or publication.

  • Coverage Type
    Choose paid or organic coverage.

  • Currency

Choose what currency you'd like to report in.

Your selected dashboard filters carry through to your export.

3. Download Report

In the bottom-right corner of the navigation bar, click the light orange button Download Report.

4. Confirm Export

A pop-up will appear asking you to choose:

  • The report format:

    • PDF - Comprehensive

    • PDF - Standard

    • PDF Summary

    • Excel Report

  • The media types you want to include:

    • You can include all or select specific channels, such as social only or Instagram Stories only.

  • The currency you'd like to report in.

Click Continue to proceed.

On the second step of the pop-up up you will also see a summary of the filters currently applied, including your date range, tags or tag groups, contributor selection and coverage type. You can review this before generating a report.

5. Wait for Processing

Once submitted, MVO will prepare your report in the background and email it to you when it’s ready (processing time varies depending on the report size).

6. Check Your Email

Look for an email from us; it should look like the one below. Download your PDF directly from the email by clicking the orange button Media Book PDF Export.

7. Enjoy your automated report

And just like that, your coverage report has been created. Automating your weekly, monthly or campaign reporting, delivered straight to your inbox in minutes.
